Purpose

From the very beginning the eass planned to launch an official publication. Apart from direct communication at the eass conferences, the Association wanted to create a medium of interchange and communication in-between the conferences. The purpose of the journal is to stimulate academic discussion about European themes and among European sociologists.

Thematic Focus

The thematic focus is on social issues relating to sport, physical education, recreation, body and movement culture. Historical, socio-psychological, political and economic approaches are all included. Both empirical and theoretical perspectives are welcome. All members of the eass and non-members are invited to contribute to the ejss, which is published quarterly.
